CLINICAL DIRECTOR

POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and working closely with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the rest of the executive team, the Clinical Director will provide clinical education, clinical consultation, and support externally to partner physicians, and internally to the Field Operations and Sales teams. The Clinical Director will lead the Clinical Operations and Quality Assurance teams and will partner with the Operations Leadership Team, including the Chief Operating Officer, to improve clinical expertise in the field, ensure compliance to clinical protocols and exceptional patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the leadership team, this individual will manage the clinical operations and quality assurance team and provide clinical consultation to both internal and external stakeholders enterprise wide. Specific responsibilities are outlined below:

  • The Clinical Director will provide clinical consultation, clinical programs, and clinical education (CME’s etc.) to partner physicians to increase physician engagement with services. 
  • Leads clinical portions of sales and operations presentations to physicians and their clinical staff. 
  • Identifies, develops, and implements a variety of educational strategies to improve clinical practices which impact on physician engagement, patient experience and outcomes.
  • Partners with regional and senior sales leadership and the implementation team to provide clinical education to physicians, clinical staff, and internal employees.
  • Educates payors on allergy service offerings and recommends payor educational content.
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of potential regulatory actions and as they relate to the clinical service.   
  • Drives for the consistent application of the clinical processes across the distributed, multi-site operation. 
  • Manages the Quality Assurance team, and the Quality Assurance program.  Partners with field operations to maintain and improve quality and adherence to clinical protocols throughout the company.
  • Manages the clinical operations team, including clinical case management to provide clinical support and education to field operations.  Drives to improve the clinical operations team’s support of the field on an ongoing basis.
  • Partners with the raining and development team to ensure that clinical education is embedded in training as applicable for all roles within the company. 
  • Manages the execution of clinical programs and projects.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Background and expertise

  • Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with active license. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required in health-related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • At least eight years of clinical management experience in a healthcare services field, knowledge of allergy and/or related specialty (e.g. ENT, Pediatrics, Respiratory) preferred.
  • Ability to identify and implement clinical best practices resulting in superior patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrated and proven clinical leadership providing support in a multi-site, distributed healthcare environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting physician relationships. Excellent communication skills, ability to influence partner physicians and other clinical staff.  Strong presentation skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field, acting as a trusted clinical resource for physician partners and the field organization.   
  • Excellent managerial skills, able to is resolve issues with clarity and tact.
  • Must be able to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze data that may be complex.
  • Ability to closely and effectively collaborate with many professionals across different disciplines.
  • Proven ability to drive process & executional consistency throughout organization.
