SUMMARY:Sanford Rose Associates – Madison is an Executive Search Firm with focus in Food, Beverage & Agri-business manufacturing, with a strong focus in Dairy, Whey, Cheese & Ingredient.Our client is a Food & Beverage Manufacturer and operate a 24/7 Food Production facility, co-manufacturing, co-packing for fortune 100 companies.You will be a leader working at a new manufacturing facility in Northcentral Illinois / Southern Wisconsin.Realistic Career growth potentialThe Director of Operations will need to be available to work when needed which may include different shifts and will need to be flexible with work schedules.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Promoting and implementing company’s values, work ethic, and team concept approachDeveloping and enforcing SOP’s (standard operating procedures), and GMP’s (Good Manufacturing practices which are compliant with SQF and HACCPDeveloping and coordinating production scheduling to meet forecasting requirementsDeveloping and maintaining a production forecast to minimize labor, material and overhead costsUnderstanding and calculating proper inventory levels to meet customer demandDeveloping and understanding budgets and product costsUnderstanding and utilizing ERP systemReviewing and setting measurable goals and expectations for production and production staff of approximately 150 employees.Developing and maintaining effective training programsConducting monthly staff meetingsMaking fact based decisions based on collected data and historyPromoting company safety cultureUnderstanding of USDA and FDA guidelineUnderstanding of SQF requirements and HACCP related systemsAware of any safety issues and addressing them accordinglyStaffing Levels – Know if we are short/longReview Schedule – On schedule/ahead/behind, adjust accordinglyNCPs – Be aware of all NCPs and investigating Production responsibilities to close themLook for trends and address accordinglyReview Production Supervisor paperwork errorsReview Maintenance needs for planned downtimeReview run rates – by run and by shiftLook for trends and any staffing or training needsReview cleanup, changeover, startup paperwork and trackReview yield – Look for where and why company may be gaining/losing inventoryReview Expired/Expiry reportsReview QR/QC reports – delegate necessary work to rework crewsReview forecastReview any projects including equipment or process changesWorkforce management – follow up with Supervisors on employee status on shifts, ex. Training, attendance, etc.Attend or lead pertinent meetingsJOB REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Bachelor Degree.Minimum 5 years operations experience in food processing and industrial environment.Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with technical knowledge of production flow in a food manufacturing environment.Minimum 5 years’ experience with food processing equipment knowledge.Demonstrated project management skills for complex projects.Negotiation skills.Efficient in all computer desktop skills to include, excel, word and power point.
